Level 0 - No Automation: The driver does everything. They control the speed, brakes, and steering all the time.Level 1 - Driver Assistance: The car can help a bit. It might control the speed or stay in the lane, but the driver still has to pay attention and be ready to take control.
Level 2 - Partial Automation: The car can handle some things, like steering and speed, but the driver needs to be ready to take over at any moment.
Level 3 - Conditional Automation: The car can do most things on its own, but the driver still needs to be ready to take control if the car asks.
Level 4 - High Automation: The car can do everything in certain situations, but it might still need the driver's help in some places.
Level 5 - Full Automation: The car can do everything by itself, no driver needed. People inside can just relax and let the car do the driving.
At lower levels, the driver still plays a significant role in operating the vehicle, while at higher levels, the vehicle can operate entirely autonomously without any human intervention.
